Affiliate startup company, Tribo Dynamics, is working with Sebastian Riley to develop the rotating liner engine, or RLE, technology. The friction reduction method via liner rotation is a proven concept and we are seeing significant reductions in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Inspired by the sleeve valve engines of WWII, the RLE technology is currently undergoing further testing at UT Austin in 2026.

Please review our most recent research paper published by SAE in March 2025, based on research performed by Sebastian Riley and others, during his time at UT Austin graduate school 2021 through 2024.
